This cover strip fitting tool can be used to insert the grey, white or black cover strip into the centre of your double glazed opening caravan window seal. This simplifies the process of fitting the cover strip and reduces the change of damaging the rubber with a screwdriver or other tools. Our fitting tool is suitable for both 23mm wide and 25mm wide cover strips.
Fitting Instructions
Spray a light coat of diluted washing up liquid or a silicone spray lubricate all the way around your window seal. This will reduce friction and allow you to move the tool around the rubber.
Start by sliding the front edge of the tool under the lips in the centre of the window seal. Insert the cover strip through the centre of the tool under the lips and into the rubber. Slowly move the tool forward inserting the cover strip into the seal. Continue in this way all the way around the seal, maintaining pressure against the window rubber to prevent the tool from slipping out of the channel.
This tool has a small handle and is recommended for infrequent use or jobs that only involve a few metres. For larger installations, including professional fitters or jobs that involve fitting over 10 metres of window rubber, we recommend using our Large Cover Strip Fitting Tool. This product has a larger handle.

We strive to ensure you are completely satisfied with your purchase. However, we understand that sometimes a product may not be what you expected. In such cases, you are able to return your item for a refund. As the vast majority of our products are customised to your length requirement at the time of order, there will be a 20% restock charge applied to any returned items. This is to cover the costs associated with processing the refund and storing the returned item until someone purchases an identical length. We are also unable to refund the outgoing shipping charge, and you are responsible for the shipping costs associated with getting the product back to us.
In the rare event that the product you have ordered is out of stock, we will notify you as soon as practically possible that there will be a delay receiving your goods.
The majority of our products are cut to order and can be purchased in a continuous length suitable for your requirements. However, some products are sold in set lengths or quantities. Please see the explanations below that detail the various ‘Unit of Purchase’ options for different products on our website.
